About North Park
Wealth Management Consultant
In 2007, I embarked on a new chapter when I joined an affiliate of John Hancock and relocated to the Buffalo area from Virginia.
This move brought me to a new location and marked a shift from the property and casualty insurance sector to focusing on meeting clients’ life, health, and investment needs. I dedicated considerable time to mastering a new suite of products and services while simultaneously building a client base from scratch. A few years later, I decided to become an independent advisor, continuing to expand my practice.
Recognizing an underserved segment among middle-class individuals from diverse backgrounds—such as blue-collar workers, healthcare professionals, educators, government employees, and small business owners—I saw a significant opportunity to make a meaningful impact with my practice.
I built my practice through traditional methods: door-to-door visits, conducting educational workshops, offering pro bono services, and establishing relationships within workplace settings and community networks. This approach steadily generated referrals from clients’ families, friends, and colleagues. I also observed the reality of the “millionaire next door” phenomenon, where individuals often accumulated substantial wealth through conservative spending habits, diligent saving, and investments in retirement accounts like 401(k)s and 457 plans. Collaborating with third-party investment managers, I began assisting clients in managing these assets, forging strong personal connections. Over time, this expanded to include managing additional assets, such as spousal retirement savings plans, older IRAs, and inherited wealth.
