About Nicole Sennett

Nicole Sennett started her career in 2005 with Merrill Lynch.

She followed in the footsteps of her father, who had been an advisor to the firm for over 40 years. Although she began in Colorado, she eventually went home to Pennsylvania to join him in creating the Sennett Team. They worked side by side until his retirement.

Nicole prides herself that she has tremendous relationships with each of her clients. One of the reasons for this is that she has a very disciplined process. Before the ease of technology, she learned early in her career the importance of communicating with her clients. Markets can go up and down. One client did not like any surprises, especially in her financial statements. Therefore, she made it part of her practice to proactively call this client before her monthly statement arrived. The importance of this lesson remained ingrained and continues to be a part of Nicole’s practice. Technology connects clients more closely, but remaining transparent with clients is critical to her practice. As an advisor, she reaches out to clients in good and bad markets. She follows the market data and updates clients on the current economic condition. Nicole believes in the efficiency of the market and long-term investing. The market does not always go straight up, but it is better conveyed verbally or through a meeting than a surprise on a monthly statement.

She specializes in working with retirees and pre-retires. Nicole gets to know her clients and creates customized portfolios for each stage of their life. Although portfolios can have similar theories and strategies, no portfolio or client is the same. Each client has a customized portfolio that adheres to their savings or spending needs. Nicole believes in old-school investment styles of bond laddering and stock picking and coupling these with modern-day niche and sector managers to add alpha or provide protection.

Nicole was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania, where she lives with her husband and son. She is the proud mother of a micro-preemie. Her family enjoys bicycling adventures, cooking, golfing, and day trips.

In 2020, Nicole was named to the Forbes Top Women Advisors list and the Shook Research Top Working Mothers.
