Mr. Dever has been researching and investing in the financial services sector for over a decade.
He is the Founder and Managing Partner of JPD Capital Partners, an investment management firm dedicated to investments across the financial services industry, with a particular focus on the community bank sector. Prior to establishing JPD, Mr. Dever was a member of the investment team at Patriot Financial Partners, one of the nation’s largest private equity funds focused exclusively on financials. There, he helped manage three funds with investments spanning the community bank, mortgage, consumer finance, and fintech sectors. Before his tenure at Patriot, Mr. Dever worked as an equity research analyst at Piper Sandler, covering banks as well as mortgage and consumer finance companies. He began his career as an equity generalist with a focus on value stocks at Morgan Stanley.
As Managing Director at Alden Investment Group, Mr. Dever manages the portfolio of the Firm’s Community Financial Institutions Fund and Bank Equity separate account strategy. He also serves on the Firm’s Investment Committee and manages other Alden funds and strategies.
Mr. Dever graduated from Villanova University and is a CFA® charter holder.
