Gregory A. Obin has distinguished himself through a career defined by precision, leadership, and adaptability across defense, government, and finance.
A decorated veteran of the United States Air Force, Mr. Obin served from 2016 to 2022 as an Information Technology Infrastructure Engineer with the 211th Engineering and Installation Squadron, deploying to Iraq in 2019 in support of Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve. His service included the design, deployment, and management of secure communications infrastructure supporting National Defense operations and presidential communications.
Throughout his tenure, Mr. Obin excelled under high-pressure conditions, leading multidisciplinary teams across electrical engineering, cybersecurity, and satellite communications. His ability to translate complex technical realities into actionable strategy earned him multiple commendations, including recognition as Airman of the Year. Later, he was entrusted with Defense Contracting assignments involving advanced communications and infrastructure integration, where he worked directly with senior defense, military, and Pentagon officials, deepening his expertise in leadership and mission-critical operations.
Transitioning to the private sector, Mr. Obin applied his systems-based discipline to municipal government, enterprise sales, and organizational design before joining New York Life Insurance Company and becoming a Registered Representative with NYLIFE Securities LLC, advising families, entrepreneurs, and private equity groups on wealth preservation, income distribution, and multigenerational family and business continuity. His practice integrates the structured logic of engineering with strategic financial judgment, guiding clients through complex decisions with clarity, discretion, and foresight.
Grounded in principles of discipline, integrity, and precision, Mr. Obin’s work reflects a seamless transfer of defense-born leadership into strategic finance and legacy architecture. Outside of work, Mr Obin has a huge passion for cigars, is an amateur chef and is currently authoring a book exploring how the fusion of military discipline and athletic coaching styles can strengthen corporate leadership models.
